Rory Carlile Brief Bio:
I’ve been an active music producer, mixer, and writer since the ’90s. Through the ‘90s and into the early 2000s I was with London club label Wall of Sound as part of Dirty Beatniks and Rootless. In the early Noughties I moved to the Big Life roster of artists and producers, managed by Tim Parry and Jazz Summers (Wham, Killing Joke, The Orb, Scissor Sisters), joining ranks with The Verve, Snow Patrol, Badly Drawn Boy, and La Roux amongst others.
Production credit highlights include collaborations with Tricky (Massive Attack), Youth (Killing Joke/ The Verve/ Primal Scream), Jaz Coleman (Killing Joke), Silver Bullet, Shelly Poole (Alisha’s Attic), and Ally McErlaine (Texas). My song ‘A Letter From Saint Jude’ co-written with my WYOs bandmate Daragh Dukes, featured on the Spiderman 3 soundtrack album (US Billboard Top 40).
Notable live performances include Reading Festival, Roskilde, Benne Cassim, and Alexandra Palace London. With Zane Lowe (Apple Music) I created the mix used by the Rolling Stones as stadium warm-up on their 40 Licks European Tour. As a DJ I have shared the decks with Africa Bambaataa, Mantronix, the Chemical Brothers, Holgar Czukay, Fatboy Slim and many more, at venues from the Ministry of Sound to Manumission, Heaven to the Big Beat Boutique.
